Peter Elam Håkansson is Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of East Capital Group, a Swedish asset manager, with about EUR 4 billion in assets under management, specialising in emerging and frontier markets. He founded the firm in 1997 and has more than four decades of experience investing across Central and Eastern Europe, the Baltics and other high-growth markets. A five-time recipient of the Morningstar and Dagens Industri Gold Star for best fund manager, he has also received numerous Lipper Awards. In 2025, he was awarded the Order of the White Star by the President of Estonia in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of the Estonian capital market and entrepreneurship in the region.
