Growing up in a family business, Simone Møkster got an early insight into the maritime industry and the responsibility of being an owner. Her father, Captain Simon Møkster, bought his first dry bulk vessel in 1968. Today Simon Møkster Shipping owns and operates a fleet of 15 vessels supporting offshore energy production. With approximately 500 employees onshore and offshore, providing maritime services in the most extreme weather conditions in the North Sea and Barents Sea. Simone Møkster is a governing owner as a director of the board of the family’s operational business as well as the chairperson of the board of their family investment company. At the Tipping Point 2023 she will share her personal experience about succession, governance, and ownership.
